Downtown Business Association welcomes four new board members

The Red Deer Downtown Business Association (DBA) is proud to welcome two new members to our Board of Directors. The following individuals will join existing members Tyler Hansen, Julie Oliver, Omar Lockhat, Ryan Curtis, Allie Grande and Danielle Harvey. North Pole Stroll returns to Downtown Red Deer for 2016 Christmas season

The Red Deer Downtown Business Association is pleased to announce the return of the annual holiday campaign, North Pole Stroll, for the 2016 Christmas season. In its fourth year, the initiative aims to promote Downtown Red Deer businesses during the holidays through promotions, contests and Downtown events. Nuit Blanche to light up the night this Saturday in Downtown Red Deer

The Red Deer Downtown Business Association (DBA) is pleased to announce the return of Nuit Blanche Red Deer this Saturday, September 17, 2016. Nuit Blanche is an annual night-time arts and culture festival that celebrates the rapidly growing and diverse arts community in Central Alberta. This family-friendly event and features live art and music, the Warren Sinclair LLP artisan vendors’ village, food trucks, craft beer gardens, an opportunity for visitors to experience and/or participate in live art installations, and the “Nature Nuts” kids’ zone provided by the Waskasoo Environmental Education Society (WEES). Parklet pilot project to launch in Downtown Red Deer

The Red Deer Downtown Business Association (DBA) is pleased to announce the launch of a parklet pilot project, with the first parklet installation on Alexander Way near the Little Gaetz Avenue intersection. Parklets are sidewalk extensions located on parking stalls that either expand the sidewalk for increased pedestrian use, or offer additional amenities for people using the street. The Alexander Way parklet is open to the public and offers bistro tables, umbrellas and chairs for passersby to relax and enjoy the Downtown atmosphere. Read more

Downtown Business Association supports Notice of Motion for Downtown BEAT Patrol

The Red Deer Downtown Business Association (DBA) is in support of the Notice of Motion recently put forward by Red Deer City Councillor Buck Buchanan. The Notice encourages support from Red Deer City Council for a BEAT Patrol to reduce crime in the Downtown Areas of Red Deer. “A BEAT Patrol consists of volunteers and regular RCMP members that act as extra eyes and ears for policing through both walkers and bike patrols – they act as a presence on the street.” Read more
