DBA Welcomes New Team Member

The Downtown Business Association is pleased to announce that Randy Butler has joined the office team as the new Communications & Event Coordinator. “We are very excited to welcome Randy to our team. CentreFest 2010

Downtown Red Deer will once again be taken over by Central Alberta’s largest festival on the weekend of July 31st and August 1st, 2010. CentreFest 2009 hosted over 20,000 people and organizers anticipate this year’s CentreFest to be the best yet. Read more

CentreFest Now Accepting Vendor Applications

Back again for its eighth year, CentreFest 2010 is Central Alberta’s largest festival, with an estimated attendance of nearly 25,000 over a two day period. This is a great opportunity for local businesses and vendors to set up shop for the weekend, and gain exposure to the masses. CentreFest boasts a unique market style atmosphere and is a showcase of Central Alberta culture through its artisans and craftspeople. Read more

DBA Appoints 2010 Board and Executive

The Red Deer Downtown Business Association held its Annual General Meeting on November 18, 2009. At that meeting, Terry Krause was re-elected and Katherine Bouchard, Davin Kemshead and John Mytz were newly elected as members to serve on the Board of Directors effective January 2010. All will serve a three year term. At the association’s January Board of Directors Meeting, the Executive was elected. Read more

Christmas Downtown

It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas in the downtown. The Biggest Christmas Tree Festival & Parade was held last week and now City Hall Park and the big tree are adorned with festive lighting. The Downtown Business Association has again provided Christmas Ambassadors. This year we have three carollers sharing their musical cheer, strolling throughout downtown and in and out of shops and businesses. Read more

Join Santa Claus on November 24, 2009 in downtown Red Deer for the Biggest Tree Festival and Parade. Supported by the theme Christmas Around the World, this year’s parade will feature floats and live entertainment and will help to kick off the 2009 Festival of Trees. Read more

Provide Input into Downtown Safety and Vitality

A town hall session to address issues in the downtown core will be held following the Downtown Business Association Annual General Meeting on November 18. The town hall will be hosted by the S.A.F.E. Downtown Initiative, a new City taskforce established to respond to challenges and work towards a more vibrant and S.A.F.E. (Sustainable • Active • Friendly • Economically-viable) downtown.
