
JOB OPPORTUNITY – OUTREACH MARKETING COORDINATOR
The Red Deer Business Association is seeking an energetic and passionate candidate to join our team as a part–time Outreach Marketing Coordinator.
Why Downtown? The Red Deer Downtown Business Association serves approximately 400 businesses and property owners in the Downtown by showcasing unique, local experiences to visitors and residents and creating an inviting environment for thriving commerce.
This role will strengthen the DBA’s presence, build stronger connections with the downtown business community, and create meaningful engagement opportunities that contribute to the revitalization of downtown Red Deer. This position will actively build connections through face-to-face interactions, drive participation in DBA initiatives, and expand the Association’s visibility across multiple platforms, including social media.
Key Goals
- Increase awareness of the DBA, its initiatives, and Downtown Red Deer
- Improve communication and engagement with downtown businesses
- Grow social media presence and online community engagement
- Foster business participation in DBA events and programs
- Identify and cultivate strategic business partnerships
- Support event marketing efforts
Primary Responsibilities
Business & Community Engagement
- Actively engage with downtown businesses and community members through regular face-to-face visits and outreach activities to encourage participation in DBA programs, events, and initiatives.
- Coordinate and implement a business visitation program to promote DBA incentives and foster connections.
- Plan and execute small-scale engagement events such as office pop-ups and activations to strengthen relationships with stakeholders.
Program & Event Support
- Lead and support marketing efforts for key DBA programs (i.e, Gift Card).
- Collaborate with the events team to promote and incentivize event programming and other DBA-led activations through strategic partnerships and social media engagement.
- Explore collaborative opportunities with local business to amplify outreach and marketing efforts.
Marketing & Content Development
- Develop and execute outreach campaigns that highlight downtown programs and increase visibility for DBA initiatives.
- Coordinate Business Spotlights to showcase downtown businesses through social media, newsletters, and the DBA website.
- Create consistent engaging content for social media, ensuring alignment with DBA brand standards and goals.
- Updating DBA website using a CMS interface
Required Competencies
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills to foster connections with downtown businesses and community members
- Experience in digital marketing, including content creation and engagement
- Experience with Content Management Systems (CMS) for website updates
- Ability to manage multiple campaigns, deadlines, and stakeholder expectations
Education
- Working towards Marketing, Business, and/or Communications diploma
- Familiarity with Google Analytics, SEO, and graphic design considered an asset
Compensation: $20 Per Hour
Hours: 15 hours per week (flexible)
