Downtown Branding

One Downtown, One Identity

As part of the ongoing revitalization process for the beautiful downtown core, the Downtown Activation Playbook is a community planning tool to develop spaces and places in the greater downtown to increase vibrancy.  There are many initiatives included in the document and budget for these actions will be considered during The City’s budget planning process.  The document identifies potential partners and collaborators for each initiative, and you will notice the DBA is mentioned frequently throughout the document.

“It is clear the scope of the challenge is significant; no one individual or organization can change downtown alone.  To reach the collective hopes and dreams of downtown in the future it will take strong and sustained relationships’” – Downtown Red Deer Activation Playbook

The first action in the Downtown Red Deer Activation Playbook (DAP), included the creation of District Branding, or “the establishment of a concise and compelling brand that can be adapted to reflect distinct sub-districts within downtown.”

The subsequent branding package was accepted by stakeholders representing all sectors of the downtown community.  It is now up to all members of the downtown to adopt the branding wherever possible.  You will begin to notice its adoption throughout this website, and in all DBA communication as time progresses.  There is the actual visual identity itself, plus some line art examples that can be used to reflect your industry or messaging.

The DBA respectfully requests you give thought to incorporating the visual identity and line art wherever possible, within your own business.  For example, adding the logo to your door or email signature and including in your marketing communications.

Below you will find the brand guidelines, versions of the logo and directions on how to use the different options, along with some exciting line art variations that can be used to reflect the message you are delivering.

If you have any questions regarding the implementation of the visual identity/line art, please email us info@downtownreddeer.com.
