Red Deer Lights the Night

November 18, 2017 @ 4:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Cost: $Free to attend

Celebrate the holiday season and take in a beautiful display of twinkling lights, a winter market and warming tent, games and crafts for the kids and, of course, a visit from Santa!

Enjoy free hot chocolate and popcorn as we light up City Hall Park and the Christmas Holiday Tree followed by a low-level fireworks display (weather permitting).

Proudly presented by Stantec and hosted by The City of Red Deer, Downtown Business Association and Red Deer Public Library, this is a free event that’s fun for the whole family.

5:15 p.m. - Lighting of City Hall Park
6:15 p.m. - Lighting of Red Deer's Christmas holiday tree
6:30 p.m. – Canada 150 low-level fireworks (weather permitting)

Live entertainment includes: Red Deer Royals Marching Show Band, Red Deer Symphony Orchestra duo Morgan McKee and Eric Allison, local eighties/nineties cover band 89.

Winter market vendors: 
- Mittenchic - Handcrafted mittens from upcycled sweaters
- Leah Spagrud Ceramics
- Something Brewing - local craft beer (samples available)
- Wanawafel Red Deer - Waffles served hot
- Nuts About Chocolate - Artisan chocolates & treats

Please note:

  • This is an outdoor winter event, so please dress appropriately
  • Pets are not permitted in City Hall Park or the event site
  • Remember to bring cash to spend at the Winter Market where you'll find handmade items, unique gift ideas, tasty treats & more!
