1. What is your business?

Ewyn Weight-Loss Studios support clients on their weight-loss journey through programing, healthy eating, stress management and much more; they are a hub for healthy living.

2. When did your business open?

This Ewyn studio opened in 2017, but Natalie has been running it since 2019

3. What makes your business unique?

Stabilization and maintenance are what make Ewyn’s weight-loss different, working with clients to reach their goals than helping them maintain the perfect balance for their individualized goals to make weight loss truly sustainable.

4. What are some products/services that you offer?

A FREE consultation followed by individual programming per client to help them reach their goals of healthy living and weight loss.

5. Why did you choose Downtown Red Deer as the location for your business?

The business was already placed downtown when I took over, but I do find that we get about 15-20% of our business from people stating they saw us as they drove by.

6. What do you think makes Downtown vibrant?

The greenery and opportunity for living an active lifestyle with the tails and outside gyms.

I love the downtown Market, and it has such a sense of community and fresh, inexpensive vegetables. I often recommend it to my clients.

Living Sounds was formed in 2002 in Edmonton. This central location makes it easy for Red Deer residents, no matter what part of the city they live it, to visit and shop downtown.  We felt it was important to bring our essential service of hearing healthcare to the most accessible area of the city.

What do you think makes Downtown vibrant? 

The diversity of the businesses in downtown Red Deer make it an interesting and lively location to operate. Plus, the work done by the Downtown Business Association to keep the area clean, add colour with planters and organize events attracts people to visit downtown.

It showcases the pride the residents have for the city they live in. The city hall park is beautiful in all seasons and is a draw for residents and visitors. Ross Street patio is a great place to enjoy local cuisine, local music and spend time with family and friends.

1. What is your business?

We are a Professional Therapeutic and Holistic Massage clinic serving Central Alberta in Downtown Red Deer since 1995.

2. When did your business open?

Originally opened in a small rental space in 1995, as we grew, it became apparent that we would need to expand. We purchased and completely renovated our current 2525 sq ft property with our clients in mind. Each treatment is spacious, clean and meets all health standards as per AHS.

3. What makes your business unique?

We are a local Massage Clinic that owns our property and has thrived in the Downtown for some 27 years: 6 treatment rooms spacious lobby. Our therapists are registered with professional associations, and as such, we can direct bill to most insurance companies. *Some conditions apply*

4. What are some products/services that you offer?

We offer Professional Massage Therapy services, including Therapeutic, Relaxation, Lymphatic, Hot Stone, Couples Massage, Reflexology, Cupping, and Craniosacral therapy.

Personally, I chose the Downtown because our family has owned and operated businesses since 1974 when we moved to Red Deer from Calgary when my parents took over Red Deer Auction Co Ltd.

The unique and friendly businesses and business owners and staff.

The Downtown Red Deer Instagram Contest is open to all residents of Canada. Any comment that infringes upon Instagram’s Terms of Service will not be eligible to participate in the contest and will be reported. All participants must be over the age of 18 and willing to produce ID on pick-up.

Logistics and Prizes

The contest will be closed on July 18th at 12:59 pm. This contest will run from July 1st 2022 to July 18th 2022

On July 19th, 2022, staff at the Downtown Business Association will choose the winner of the contest at random using a random picker online system. The winner will be direct messaged Via Instagram. Prizes will not be shipped and must be collected in person. When prizes are collected, bring photo identification and proof that the Instagram account belongs to you (please have your account handy on your mobile device or laptop computer). Prizes will be collected on June 20th or 21st in coordination with a DBA staff during normal business hours. Prizes must be accepted as awarded and cannot be transferred, assigned, substituted or redeemed for cash.
