ARE YOU PASSIONATE ABOUT DOWNTOWN RED DEER?

Help us take action for a better downtown.

The Red Deer Downtown Business Association is seeking three new members to join our Board of Directors. Interested candidates should be passionate about Downtown Red Deer, interested in contributing to its future, and willing to make a commitment to serve a three-year term.

Supported by the staff, the Board is responsible for setting policy, reviewing progress and providing direction for the association. The time commitment is approximately two hours per month on the third Thursday. Candidates must own, operate or be employees of a business located within the Business Improvement Area (BIA) in the Downtown region.

The following disqualifying items are reviewed annually by the Board of Directors:

I acknowledge that I have reviewed the criteria outlined below and understand that I will not meet the qualifications for a Director of the DBA Board if:

• I am under eighteen years of age;
• I am of unsound mind and have been found so by a Court in Canada, or elsewhere;
• I have been convicted by final judgment of an offense punishable by imprisonment for a period exceeding three (3) years;
• I have been convicted of a violation of the Criminal Code committed within five (5) years;
• I reside more than 100 days (about 3 and a half months) of the year greater than 50 kilometers (about 31.07 mi) from the City of Red Deer;
• I am an undischarged bankrupt;
• I do not either own property or operate or am employed by a business located within the BIA.
